Christian Fischbacher, a Swiss company renown for its excellent fabrics for residential and contract market, is today managed by the sixth generation under the leadership of Michael Fischbacher. The Company has presented the newest trends in Trevira CS with the launching of “The A-Collection”. The expertly coordinated design and colors inspire new, carefree combinations, offering infinite possibilities between floral designs, stripes and planes. The versatile furnishing materials emphasize timeless living trends. More and more end-consumers have come to appreciate this concept built along interesting color and texture combinations, which was originally created with the high-end contract market in mind.  

Following the international success of the Benu PET and Benu YARN collections in autumn 2009, Christian Fischbacher has again come up with an elegant recycled collection for autumn 2010. The series of recycled home furnishing fabrics is continued and expanded with the addition of Benu WOOL. The various designs are all produced on recycled wool. By using Benu WOOL, we are able to preserve natural resources without having to forego trendy aesthetics and interesting qualities.

The A-Collection by Christian Fischbacher consists of twelve articles. All materials are made of Trevira CS and are therefore perfect for both contract and private use. The fabrics can be used as sheers or as decorative and furnishing materials, wall coverings or bedspreads. Exclusive living scenarios are created when the materials are harmoniously coordinated in an interesting mix of colors and textures. The A-Collection can take on an elegant classical touch or a cool and trendy modern look, all depending on the color palette that the designer picks.

The floral print ALERIA and the calendared ALSARA with its shiny, linen-like look are cool and trendy. They correspond perfectly with the luminous colors of the matt and luscious ATHENAIS moirés. ATHENAIS, a hand-guided, free moiré shown in its classical colors, presents a completely different feeling when combined with the timeless ARCADIA floral design and the sophisticated, soft velvet APOLLODOR. 

Trevira CS stands for comfort and security: highly fire-resistant, easy to care for (washing and ironing), non-fading, durable, environmentally friendly and sturdy.

Benu WOOL

The newest addition to the Benu group, Benu WOOL is in keeping with the spirit and the philosophy of the proceeding Benu collections, Like Benu PET and Benu YARN, the main focus is on recycling, environmental awareness, and the careful handling of limited natural resources.  

The wool that are used for the BENU WOOL collection, originate from old clothing inventory and from industrial wool. Due to a newly patented process, it is now possible to a recycled wool yarn and respins it so that it is sufficiently long and can woven again for home furnishing use. It is then tested to meet the strict requirements in terms of wear, pilling and abrasion resistance. By recycling the wool materials, the excess production of textiles is reduced. Furthermore, we forego additional dying with the BENU WOOL collection.  

Benu Wool is a plain fabric that is perfectly suitable for drapery or upholstery. Benu DOTS is an innovative fabric made by embossing small, pronounced dots. Benu FLOCK repeats and reinforces the modern trademark of the BENU series. The flocked graphic and yet floral looking design is a cool nod to the environmentally aware concept of the BENU collection. The collection comes in natural tones of cream, browns and greys, with exciting color accents brought out in Benu Flock. 

The Christian Fischbacher recycled collection is called Benu, the name of an ancient Egyptian sacred bird associated with the rising sun and akin to the Greek “phoenix”, a mythic bird that died in flames only to arise from it’s ashes in renewed brilliance. In a word-playing way its name can be also pronounced “be new” connecting mythic renewal to the Christian Fischbacher collection.
