KriskaDECOR® is a metal curtain which offers a wealth of options for partitioning rooms and as a decorative feature. KriskaDECOR® is made from small interlinked pieces of anodized aluminium which form a lightweight, versatile mesh. It is a real metallic textile.
Its style options are infinite. Designers can develop a completely smooth curtain or combine colors with logos, patterns, geometric shapes, reproduction of artworks and many, many more ideas. KriskaDECOR’s manufacturing process means that customers can design their own curtain and the company can supply it to the required measurements.
Its main characteristics are its resistance to fresh and salt water, sunlight and rust, and the fact that it is recyclable, very lightweight, easy to clean, hygienic and non-flammable give it an enormous advantage over other products for both interior and exterior use.
USES
The main uses of KriskaDECOR® are defining spaces, partitioning rooms without the need for solid walls and producing cozy nooks using a combination of colors and shapes, and one of the most interesting options is using KriskaDECOR® as a decorative element in itself. It is also ideal for using on stage sets or as a decorative feature for social events such as prize-giving ceremonies, trade fairs, etc.
A product like this offers numerous possibilities and the designer can enjoy total freedom in designing his or her decorating ideas using this extremely innovative material. The applications and uses of KriskaDECOR® are as infinite as the space available and the imagination of interior design and decoration professionals.
SOME PROJECTS…
KriskaDECOR® has been used in the stage set of the 2005 Oscar ceremony in Hollywood, in the shop windows of brands as diverse as B&B, Conti, Vinçon and Gonzalo Comella (in Barcelona), Armonia’Beauté in Italy, and the Press Lounge of the Westin Excelsior at the Venice Film Festival. The products of KriskaDECOR have also been used in Hollywood films such as Jim Carrey’s “Dick & Jane”, on the set of the TV series “Las Vegas” and for the presentation of the BMW 3-Series Coupé in Italy. Its curtains have been used to grace restaurants such as Aqua Knox in the Venetian Hotel (Las Vegas), Oro Negro (Murcia), Café Niza (Pamplona), Bezu in the Hotel Sofitel in Queenstown (New Zealand) and hotels such as Casa Camper (Barcelona) and the Gretna Green Hotel (Dumfriesshire, UK).
COLORS
KriskaDECOR® offers a wide range of colors and its palette is constantly extended. At present, the range features 16 colors in gloss and 14 in satin finish. The combination of colors means that every piece is unique and exclusive, and the passage of time does not affect the colors or their shine.
DENSITY (enlloc de acabats)
KriskaDECOR® curtains are available in two densities, regardless of the size, colors or fitting systems. These finishes relate to the spacing between the different meshes:
Standard finish, where each piece of the mesh is parallel, giving a smooth and regular appearance and a mesh density of 78 per meter.
HalfDrop spacing, which uses a mesh density of 100 per meter and gives a more compact appearance, filling in the spaces between the mesh and giving more privacy.
NEW PRODUCTS
One of the most important innovations is the KriskaDECOR® Drapery fitting system, which allows the curtains to be moved and closed either manually or mechanically. Furthermore, the decorative curtains come with different hanging systems so they can be adapted to any circumstances.
SIZES
Because the curtains are made from aluminum, the customer can request any width or height measurement as it is an exceptionally lightweight and easy-to-handle material which requires no special anchoring points or structural loading.
INSTALLATION
In general, the installation of the standard curtains can be done by the customer themselves, or anyone else working on site. It’s as easy as hanging a picture. Some of the more special applications may require someone with experience in similar kinds of assembly, but it is certainly never a complex process.
The company was founded in 1926 by Josep Maria Sans Amill while he was still studying at the Industrial School of Barcelona. Combining his studies with work, he designed and built, using scrap metal, the first automatic machine to produce linked mesh.
As a result of his natural ingenuity and drive for perfection, in 1928 he devised a new type of mesh and the machine to make it. That was the origin of the interlocking or Sans chain-mesh, the starting point of the company’s future development and the precursor of a series of patented models which have set the standard for the whole sector. Ever since the chain-mesh was invented, its technical evolution and expansion has continued apace.
In 1957 his son, Josep Maria, joined the factory’s management, extending and improving upon his father’s work and devising a special anodized aluminum facility for coloring the chain-mesh.
In 1986 the company’s new facilities were opened, allowing production to be increased and significant improvements in the quality of the manufactured products.
From that time onwards the company’s progress has been unstoppable, consistently creating top quality products to meet our customers’ requirements.
Ever since the company started out, the curtains of the company have been manufactured 100% at its facilities in Montblanc, from production of the mesh from metal thread on huge bobbins through to the color composition used in developing a logo or image.
