Baumann Goes Natural…

Company News - Volume 4/ Jan-Apr 2011

The topic NATURAL is realized in Baumann Dekor’s new contract collection in color as well as in the selection of motifs and designs in a new contemporary way. Opulent jacquards in wool and loden appearance surprise with unusual color contrasts. Individual motifs of the alpine world are represented in dual color and strong contrasts. Floral patterns and reversible squares dominate the collection.

Describing their state-of-the-art collection, Regina Siller, Design- and Creative Lead at Brüder Baumann GmbH, said:  “We implemented two topic variations as part of the umbrella collection NATURAL: the first topic is a modern interpretation that plays with several motifs of flora and fauna of the mountain world in its statement. The glamorous color combination of blackberry and silver offers an entirely new appearance. We have implemented a modern realization with heavy materials in wool and loden appearance that radiates warmth and comfort. Shimmering accents on a contrast-rich base. The colors range from shades of beige and brown to red, olive, petrol and anthracite. Silver, turquoise, blackberry and fuchsia are used to interestingly accentuate. The jacquards in coarse wool appearance have a robust feel.  The patterns are woven over the entire breadth of the fabric (up to 1.40 m) so that it could also be used as tapestry for interior hotel walls. The second topic variation is inspired by the historic Toile de Jouy. We achieve a precious silk and linen appearance by using high threading settings. The fabrics give a light and precious impression and are very decorative.”

The recent collection by Baumann deliberately plays with dual coloring. The original blue-white and blue-red cotton prints of Toile de Jouy are realized using weaving techniques in Trevira CS quality. The motifs are borrowed from the alpine mountain world.
