Scheduled to be opened end of 2011, Hyatt Capital Gate will be part of the iconic new Capital Gate building connected to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Setting new standards for hospitality design, this luxury five-star hotel is set to become a landmark in the Abu Dhabi skyline and a leading business hotel in the region.

The 189-room hotel has been developed specifically for Capital Gate and the unique tower is set to become a world-famous landmark for Abu Dhabi city, which is renown for its exceptional and original architectural buildings. Soaring at 160 meters above the ground, this gravity-defying building leans a staggering 18 degrees. The impressive architectural feats that define this project are combined with elegant interior design concepts to offer a uniquely refined guest experience.

Developed by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), Capital Gate leans westward an astonishing 18 degrees; by comparison the Leaning Tower of Pisa leans less than 4 degrees.  Because of its unique posture, the tower is being constructed on top of an incredibly dense mesh of reinforced steel.  The dense mesh sits above an intensive distribution of 490 piles which have been drilled 30 meters underground to accommodate the gravitational, wind and seismic pressures caused by the lean of the building.

Capital Gate is a building that the world is talking about, not because it has surpassed another building as the world's tallest, but because of its aesthetic splendor and technical achievement.

Capital Gate is one of a kind. Its graceful, asymmetric diagonal structure, known as a 'diagrid', supports the tilting external load of the building and we believe that this is the first building in the world to use a pre-cambered core.

Besides being the 'world's most inclined' building, Capital Gate also features 728 unique custom-made diamond-shaped glazing panels. Due to the structure's curving shape, each pane of glass is different and each was fitted at a slightly different angle.
