ARAN MENSUCAT SAN VE TIC AS
Aran Mensucat is a prominent Turkish manufacturer of woven blankets. The family enterprise was set up by Seydi and Ali Özmeracan in 1982, and is still run by the family. The company which sells 80% of its production abroad employes 450 people in their production facility in Uşak and the marketing headquarter in Istanbul. Aran runs 60 jacquard looms, providing a capacity of 5,000 blankets per day, with all production stages under one roof. After investments and extensions of the production facility in recent years, the portfolio now also includes printed blankets. Apart from the large regular collection and a seasonally updated colour pallet, the
company also offers custom-made developments on customer request.
Aran products hold the Oeko-Tex 100 and TSE (Institute of Turkish Standard) certificates.
The main markets are Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland.
The small Trevira CS product line is a new speciality, first introduced to the market in 2006. Since then Aran developed some blankets which are convinient to use in the contract and marine businesses in Europe and Turkey. Some Cash&Carry shops in seaside areas of the Turkish coast started offering them on their shelfs as regular products for small ship owners that buy supplies from during their stay.
„We have started to introduce Trevira CS items because of the brand management and the reliability of this product in the market“, says CEO Turgut Özmercan. Judging the market for flame retardant textiles in Turkey, he adds: „We expect the market to grow, as taking share from Modacrylic in the airline industry and we also see potential for flame retardant polyester fibres. Like Trevira CS fibres are having much longer period and strenghth to heavy usage and washing again and again for years and still keeps the same specs for industry at required standards.“
